Experience the best of the Angkor Archaeological Park with this carefully designed 2-day itinerary, combining iconic temples, hidden gems, cultural sites, and unforgettable sunrise and sunset moments in Siem Reap.
🌸 Day 1 – Banteay Srei & Grand Circuit Temples
Your journey begins at around 8:00 AM, heading to the beautiful Banteay Srei Temple, also known as the “Pink Lady Temple,” famous for its intricate carvings and well-preserved sandstone architecture. The morning light makes this one of the most enchanting temple visits in Angkor.
After exploring Banteay Srei, enjoy a lunch break at a local restaurant near the temple before continuing your cultural experience. You may also choose to visit the Landmine Museum or the Butterfly Centre, both offering meaningful insight into Cambodia’s history and biodiversity.
In the afternoon, continue your journey through the Grand Circuit with visits to Preah Khan, Neak Pean, Ta Som, and Pre Rup, where you can enjoy a peaceful sunset surrounded by ancient ruins and jungle landscapes.
Transport options for Day 1 include Tuk-Tuk at $25, Car at $45, and Minivan at $50. An optional English-speaking guide is available for $35, with other languages offered at different rates.
🌅 Day 2 – Angkor Wat & Main Temples
Begin early, at 5:00 AM or earlier (depending on season/month), to witness the magical sunrise over Angkor Wat, the largest and most iconic religious monument in the world. This unforgettable moment offers a peaceful and spiritual start to your day.
After sunrise, continue exploring Angkor Thom, the ancient royal city of the Khmer Empire. Highlights include Bayon Temple with its iconic smiling faces, the Terrace of the Elephants, Baphuon Temple, the Royal Palace area, and Phimeanakas Temple, each revealing layers of history and architectural brilliance.
Enjoy a lunch break near the temple area before continuing to Ta Prohm Temple in the afternoon. Known for its dramatic jungle setting and featured in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider, Ta Prohm offers a magical blend of nature and ancient stone ruins.
